Organizational Background The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is America’s largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline, which has helped more than one million people since 1994, and will soon launch the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline, the web’s first secure web-based hotline, providing live help, 24/7.
In addition to the hotlines, RAINN operates education and outreach programs to prevent sexual assault, encourage victims to report their attack to police, and make victims aware of available services. RAINN also leads national efforts to improve sexual assault laws and the criminal justice process. We work extensively with the media and with the entertainment industry to provide vital information about sexual assault to the public.

Job Description The Volunteer Recruiter will work with the VP of Communications to recruit volunteers across the country to staff the new Online Hotline and will serve as liaison to RAINN’s 1,100 affiliate rape crisis centers. The Volunteer Recruiter reports to the VP of Communications.
Duties ➢Work with universities, businesses and non-profits to recruit volunteers for the Online Hotline ➢Develop and coordinate events with partners to create awareness of RAINN’s programs and volunteer opportunities ➢Research and identify websites, listserves, Yahoo groups and blogs to post recruitment information ➢Speak to outside groups about volunteer opportunities ➢Help create print and online materials for recruitment efforts ➢Work with participating rape crisis centers to increase volunteer participation in Online Hotline ➢Develop and maintain relationships with all affiliate rape crisis centers ➢Travel as necessary to recruit volunteers and meet with partners
Qualifications:
Qualifications ➢Two years of experience working with student, civic, professional or social organizations. ➢Experience working with or recruiting volunteers is a plus. ➢Exceptional written and oral communication skills and high attention to detail. ➢Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and a strong team ethic. ➢Passion for RAINN’s mission to prevent sexual assault, punish its perpetrators and help its victims. ➢Bachelor’s degree
